It is time for an announcement that might seem nostalgic at its core, yet looks to the future with boundless optimism: Berlin Festival is moving! Not to Hanover, but to Kreuzberg and to the exciting venue surrounding and including Club der Visionäre and Arena, Hoppetosse and White Trash – to what we have come to name Arena Park (you can check the following link for a visual area map). It will prove to be only half a move, though, since our programme from midnight to the wee hours of the morning has already been taking place at Arena under the guise of Club Xberg in the past. But what we're dealing with here is the beginning of a thrilling new era.
Mysteryland’s multi-faceted approach has been a winning formula for no less than two decades. The festival offers its guests a creative journey, combining music with theatre, movies, interactive installation art, street performers and spectacular shows at bizarre decorated stages. To create this amazing spectacle, the festival organizers collaborate with a wide range of creative people from all over the world. As a nomad Mysteryland travels across the globe to find international artists willing to work with the festival and to make it an even richer experience.
Topping the bill is Detroit born Berlin based producer Jimmy Edgar. Signing with the legendary Warp Records at just 18 years old, he’s gone on to carve out a niche for himself as a purveyor of the sleaziest Electro-Funk this side of Prince, with a raft of dancefloor slaying singles and acclaimed LP’s. Now part of the mighty Hotflush family, Jimmy continues to rock clubs around the globe-whether its solo or part of the duo JETS alongside close friend Machinedrum. Prepare for things to get real sexy when he takes over on the wheels of steel.
