ColoRising Exclusive Interview with Chlöe Howl

Chlöe Howl knows what she wants and isn’t scared to speak her truth. Raised in Berkshire, she was one of those musical prodigies who, blessed with an outstanding voice along with charisma, literally signed a major label record deal at the age of 16. By 2013, she exploded on the scene not only dropping big pop songs like ‘Rumour’ and ‘No Strings’ but also found herself nominated for a 2014 BRIT Award. The then pixie-cut beauty graced various magazines from Marie Claire to Vogue Russia. Whilst this would be a dream come true for most artists, Howl decided to part ways with Sony Music opting to take full creative control of her music and destiny.

Hugh Unveil Their Stunning Single ‘Sober’

London band Hugh have delivered some pretty gorgeous tunes spanning the past few years. Whilst their 2017 LP 'Love, Hugh' elegantly blended sounds ranging from pop, soul, Hip-Hop, jazz-fused electronica and more, the band took a bit of a break throughout 2018. Making a grand return this year, the group's latest offering is the single 'Sober', which features vocalist and songwriter Amaroun. Atmospheric with the paired vocals of Amaroun and Hugh front man Josh Idehen fitting tightly like a hand in glove, the song is a beautiful and mesmeric recording that finds Hugh still at the top of their game.

Montreal producer Patrick Wade aka Dead Horse Beats is set to release his new album 'Inglaterra'. Giving fans a glimpse of what to expect, he has unveiled his latest single 'Home Days'. A fusion of jazzy, head-nodding Hip-Hop with a warm blanket of soul, it's hard not to get roped into the song upon the first couple seconds of the intro. With a thick, rubbery bass line acting as the heartbeat, sleek synths and boom-bap drum programming all float underneath Wade's smokey vocals. With his album 'Pony' out now via Sub Pop Records, Orville Peck now shares the video for his single 'Turn To Hate'. Directed by Orville himself along with Carlos Santolalla, you can find the masked singer performing on stage at an establishment in East L.A. Along with a heap of dancing, you can also catch Mac DeMarco riding an electronic bull along with the rest of the patrons there. A fun video, you can stream the visuals down at the bottom.

Stream Etta Bond’s New LP ‘He’s Not Mine’

After having a big year in 2018, vocalist Etta Bond has released her new album 'He's Not Mine', the first half of a double LP. Comprised of nine tracks, the record features the singles 'Let Me Hit It' and Bond's latest track 'No More Love' featuring Shaé. Her cut 'Shorny' isn't on this half, but we're speculating it will be on part 2 of the double record. However, there is a collaboration tune with Kojey Radical entitled 'One Way Down' which is definitely a reason to get excited.
