One hand it feels like yesterday that the sound of UK Funky was blaring throughout the streets of England, yet on the other hand it feels like ages ago. One of the producers who was able to not only thrive in that scene but push forward into other styles and genres is Lil Silva. The Bedford producer not only created some of the hottest sounds in UK Funky, but went on to produce for the likes of Adele, Banks, and more.
Over the past few years South London singer Sampha has done quite alright for himself. Having featured on albums by some of the biggest names in music including Kanye West, Drake, Frank Ocean, Solange and more, he is now ready to step further into the limelight with the release of his debut LP 'Process'. Out February 3rd via Young Turks, Sampha has shared a gorgeous song dedicated to his mother entitled '(No One Knows Me) Like The Piano'. Soulful and unquestionably moving, the song is an intricate moment with simply the artist and the piano, which is truly all Sampha needs to deliver brilliance. Following her recently released album 'A Seat At The Table', Solange has shared the two videos to her track 'Don't Touch My Hair' and 'Cranes In The Sky'. Directed by Alan Ferguson and Solange herself, both stylishly shot videos combine culture, fashion and beauty, with various clips filmed in gorgeous locations. The creative direction is also handle by Solange Knowles, along with photographer Carlota Guerrero who shot the album cover and the imagery in the accompanying digital book.
