Having released their EP 'We Were Kings' in 2015, London duo SUNS will drop their new single 'Catalyse' on July 7th via Taiyō Records. Included in the pack is the original version as well as a remix by WYTE LABL and this melodic, piano-driven rework by Light Falls. Taking it back to the classic production of the golden era of early 90s raves combined with a modern twist of the present, Light Falls' remix is infectious from the very first start of the synth stabs. New York's Empress Of shares a remix of her song 'Icon' courtesy of Brooklyn producer The Range. Taking garage style drum programming with moody, almost melancholic piano riffs on top, the track is featured on a limited edition cassette tape which features Empress Of's debut LP 'Me', as well as unreleased material. There clearly must be something in the air within Scandanavian region when it comes to music at this point. Aside from pumping out pop acts by the boat loads, when it comes to electronica, they have been a force to reckon with for quite some while now. The next round comes from Oslo, with Pieces of Juno who recently released her 'Frisson' EP via the KOSO imprint. One of the tracks featured on the record entitled 'Valentine', has also been given the remix treatment by Scandi talent Ida Dillan.
Indie pop band Kytes enlist fellow German producer Robot Koch to reconstruct their single 'I Got Something' into a bouncy whirlwind of electronica that will have your head nodding from start to finish. Cosmic and utterly spacey, this rework is the icing on the cake after Kytes' SXSW run in America with the single. This is a good one! 'I Got Something' is available April 29th. Have a listen.
As if Meadowlark's song 'Paraffin' wasn't already infectious enough, the Bristol duo now share the Tender remix. Resculpting the song into a lush and floating electronic soundscape, Tender's take sits comfortably well alongside the original version, which are both brilliant in their own right.
