Atlanta-based trio The Coathangers have announced news regarding their forthcoming European tour. The punk band will kick off their dates in Leeds on October 18th, ending November 17th in Lisbon. To coincide with the news, the group have also shared a live video of their song 'Hurricane', taken from their 2011 LP 'Larceny and Old Lace'. Birmingham punk band Youth Man have unveiled info regarding their new EP titled 'Five Songs'. Scheduled to land June 29th on Alcopop! Records, the band will release limited edition yellow and orange marble 12" vinyl records, as well as via standard digital download.
Los Angeles band Silent Rivals turn up the heat with their new single 'Just One Voice'. The song follows the band's 2017 album 'The Kindness of Strangers', which was released via Listen Loud Records. The fiery tune whilst raw in spirit, still maintains polished production that is performance friendly in any big room setting. The city of Brighton has exploded with loads of great bands bursting from the local music scene. One of the bands that has been on our radar for a while is Thyla. Fronted by singer Millie Duthie, the group made their debut back in 2017 with the song 'Ferris Wheel'. Since that time, they have gone on to drop cuts like "Pristine' and 'Tell Each Other Lies', both tracks maintaining their own individuality of sound. Thyla have now unveiled their new single 'Blame'. Their most fiery tune yet, racing post-punk guitars create an angst as power drumming adds a thunderous roar. 'Blame' is out now on B3SCI Records.
Wire will re-release their first iconic LPs 'Pink Flag', 'Chairs Missing' and '154' along with special edition CD books. They will include a number of previously unreleased songs as well as an 80-page hardback book of rare photos. The band actually recorded a total of 26 demos for their 'Chairs Missing' album which includes this raw version of their track 'French Film Blurred'. Having recorded the song in 1977, the tune got re-written in 1978. Classic post punk in all its glory, this is taken from 'Chairs Missing', which is out May 18th. A standard edition of the albums will land June 22nd via Wire's label Pinkflag.
Running 10 years strong, NYC punk rockers The Sediment Club will release their new album 'Stucco Thieves' on May 25th via Wharf Cat Records. They have also unveiled their new single 'The Payoff', which will be featured on the upcoming record. Tapping into classic New York City punk and no wave, the track is minimal with a raw and fiery spike.
London band CHILDCARE have been pumping out top quality songs harking back to their tune 'Omega Grey' a couple years back. The group make their return with a piece of social commentary in their new single 'Big Man'. Lead by a haunting guitar riff, the song progresses into a dark post-punk offering that properly soundtracks the current state of global politics. CHILDCARE step up with their best work yet.
