Listen to Aldo’s Infectious Track ‘Papermaze’

Fusing the sounds of punk, electronica and disco are São Paulo-based brothers André and Murilo Faria aka Aldo. The two will release their new 'Trembling Eyelids' EP on August 30th. Having already shared the title track back in April, Aldo have now unveiled another song entitled 'Papermaze'. Powered by spacey, fuzzy synths, up-kicking drums, and a funky bass line, the song is an overly addicting gem that we can't get enough of.

Stream the 50s-Inspired Nobody’s Baby Single ‘Life of a Thousand Girls’

Northern California band Nobody's Baby may be new to our ears but their recent single 'Life of a Thousand Girls' is a lovely offering of doo-wop, garage rock and punk that is utterly addicting. While the first half of the song musically embodies 1950's classicism in terms of instrumentation, the band switches to a harder punk-driven sound with chunky guitar riffs accompanying tingling vocal melodies. We're looking forward to hearing loads more from the promising Bay Area band. Have a listen.

Pinky Pinky Release Their Debut LP ‘Turkey Dinner’

Paving a lane in the rock & roll scene, Los Angeles band Pinky Pinky have released their debut album 'Turkey Dinner'. The 11-song release includes the track 'My Friend Sean'. With Hanni El Khatib and Jonny Bell handling the production front, 'Turkey Dinner' finds the trio delving into garage rock, Americana, punk and even pop.

DZ Deathrays ‘IN-TO-IT’ Video

Australian band DZ Deathrays have announced the release of their new album 'Positive Rising: Part 1'. Landing August 30th via Alcopop! Records, the news follows the band's wrapping up of their 10-year anniversary tour. Recorded in Los Angeles, the LP was produced by Miro Mackie.

Dude York ‘Box’ Video

Seattle band Dude York deliver the video to their insanely catchy single 'Box'. Directed by Jared Caldwell, what you have here is a whole heap of dancing going on from start to finish. While initially lead actress Samie Detzer finds herself bursting out a dance routine, Dude York's Peter Richards eventually finds himself on the set accompanying her with his own dance moves.

London Band Famous Release Their Brilliant Mini-Album ‘England’

Already having ties to the theatrical piece Ubu which ran at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London band Famous make a wave of a splash with their new mini-album 'England'. A roller coaster ride of post-punk, new wave and art-pop, krautrock and more, the six-track record is theatre in itself with vocalist Jack Merrett delivering bold performances reminiscent of the likes of Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and even elements of Mark E. Smith of The Fall. You can also hear influences of David Bowie swirling around 'England'.

Summer Cannibals ‘Can’t Tell Me No’ Video

Portland-based band Summer Cannibals have shared a hilarious video for their latest single 'Can't Tell Me No', which is the title cut taken from the group's upcoming LP. The Jonah Ray and David B. Lyons-directed visuals feature the band working at the arcade Quarterworld under the iron fist of a mean boss. Eventually running out of patience for his dictator-like ways, singer Jessica Boudreaux hits him in the head with a skee ball. Summer Cannibals eventually transform the arcade into a music venue.

METZ Share Their Latest Single ‘Pure Auto’

Toronto noise rockers METZ are slated to release their new album 'Automat' on July 12th via Sub Pop. One of the songs featured on the upcoming LP is this riotous cut entitled 'Pure Auto'. Skewed guitar riffs along with thunder boom drumming are aided with distortion all backing the raging vocals of Alex Edkins.

The group's latest single 'Pay Day' not only shines a spotlight on the aspect of barely surviving financially, but also examines the system and structure behind it. Set to jolting punk production, the song is taken from Gauche's forthcoming album 'A People’s History of Gauche', landing July 12th via Merge.
