The term death gospel is attributed to the sound of Swedish artist Louise Lemón. While an immediate assumption of something rather dark could spring to mind, her music is the light, soul and beauty of any tempestuous moment. Lemón's voice is a siren of power, with her production palette consisting of psychedelic rock, atmospheric pop, rhythm and blues, alternative and more. Passion is evident in her songs and Louise Lemón knows how to deliver them in a manner that hit straight to the heart and soul.
There has to be something magical in the water in the city of Athens, Greece at the moment. The amount of artists releasing incredible music continue to rise by the year. From psychedelic to electronica, Athens has been a hot bed for great acts for the past 7 years. CHICKN is one of those bands who have been consistent with releases, spawning amazing records ranging from quirky rock, psych, off-beat post-punk and even Americana. Their latest album 'WOWSERS!' is a festive melting pot of sounds, recorded live between 2017 and 2018. The band covers so much musical ground in a span of nine songs, that you will probably have to play it a few times to truly appreciate the diversity of the record. Not afraid to venture off into the obscure zone at times, this is an album for those who crave a level of fearlessness and fun in the music.
The city of Oakland, California has currently been a hotbed of talented musicians creating a lively pulse. One of the bands who have been breaking ground for the past four years are the four piece outfit Everyone Is Dirty. Releasing their debut LP 'Dying Is Fun' back in 2014, the group will now drop their second album 'My Neon’s Dead' on September 28th via OIM Records.
