Post-punk, synth-wave, industrial, techno - Barcelona's SDH (Semiotics Department of Heteronym) are some of the best to craft the sound bursting from Spain. Comprised of Andrea P. Latorre and Sergi Algiz, label owners of Cønjuntø Vacíø and members of the cutting edge band Wind Atlas, their SDH project is the ultimate rush of haunting, heavy electronica layered with a synth-pop spreading, creating the ultimate balance between light and dark. Questioning the idea of fiction, SDH's sound is a continuing ride through illusory and realism. With their new EP 'Tell Them' out March 9th on Avant! Records, Semiotics Department of Heteronym are true heroes of electronic and post-punk alchemy.
With their debut EP 'Penance' scheduled for release on February 23rd via Good Eye Records, NYC-based band Russian Baths have shared their third single 'Poolhouse'. A roller coaster ride of moody change ups, at times apocalyptic, other moments a peaceful serenity, the song is a bending wave of premium noise and art rock goodness.

NYC band Ice Balloons are consistently dubbed as a super group. To an extent that may be true but the group are first and foremost friends who have come together to create art with absolute freedom and room to explore. Consisting of Sean Kennerly of Samiam, TV On The Radio’s Kyp Malone, Sean Powell of Fuckemos, Midnight Masses’ Giselle Reiber, B.A. Miale, Rob Bryn of Wild Yaks and Dan Scinta, their music is a collage of riotous punk, New York no wave, garage rock and noise all rolled up into one event of a listen. To call it energetic would be an understatement and in terms of their stage show, well let’s just say that it is probably one of the liveliest performances one could see…ever! Wilder than wild, the ‘common fly’ charges about on stage singing vocals and at some point in the show there may even be sparks popping and flying about on his body.

When it comes to bring the rugged and raw sound of punk and noise, Girls In Synthesis are at the top of our list. Having released their double A-side record 'The Mound/Disappear', the London trio are as core as they come. The group have now dropped the official video for 'Disappear' which features a messy dripping of paint on top of all three members. Directed by Camila Leme Nelson, the video was literally done in one take. Check it out.
If there is one group here to shake things up in music it's London's Girls In Synthesis. With a sound raging with punk fury, the group released their double A-side record 'The Mound/Disappear' in early March of this year. The band's energy hit like the impact of a bullet train at full speed with much of it properly translated at their live shows. After all, it isn't uncommon to see some of the members jumping into the crowd whilst playing. With the current political climate of the world seeming to spiral into a frenzy, the sound of Girls In Synthesis couldn't be needed more to cut through the current fluff floating about.

New York City duo GHXST released their 'Perish' EP last month, a heavy placing of grunge, noise, psych and more. Bringing forth their latest video 'Waiting for the Night', the self-directed visuals include the two trekking from train tracks to a motel, whilst other clips feature singer Shelley X performing the song in front of projections.
