Maud Geffray may already be familiar to fans of the Parisian group Scratch Massive but as a solo artist she is proving that she is an entity on to herself.
Geffray’s latest LP ‘Polaar’ is a deep, nocturnal journey through various styles of electronica ranging from house to electro pop and even new wave. Whilst haunting sound palettes are not foreign to the electronic world, Maud Geffray’s multifaceted selection of tempos and often times delivery of mood makes the LP highly pleasurable. Cinematic instrumental tracks such as ‘Voices from the Sky’ are balanced with steamy synth pop layered tunes like the catchy ‘In Your Eyes’ which features Flavien Berger.
If there is one group here to shake things up in music it's London's Girls In Synthesis. With a sound raging with punk fury, the group released their double A-side record 'The Mound/Disappear' in early March of this year. The band's energy hit like the impact of a bullet train at full speed with much of it properly translated at their live shows. After all, it isn't uncommon to see some of the members jumping into the crowd whilst playing. With the current political climate of the world seeming to spiral into a frenzy, the sound of Girls In Synthesis couldn't be needed more to cut through the current fluff floating about.
Artistry oozes from the pores of St. Petersburg-born, Germany-raised Victoria Trunova. Having previously released blissful music with her project Hanna & Kerttu, her new work under the name KOY is a dreamy hybrid of sounds that is organically refreshing and ethereal. Presenting her new release entitled 'Heat', the Matias Tellez-produced tune is a lovely ride of dream pop, atmospheric electronica, club and even a splash of new wave. Factor in KOY's angelic vocals and what you have is an absolutely brilliant first offering from the singer and musician. If this is a taste of what's to come then we can hardly wait for her next delivery. 'Heat' is out now. Check it out.

Comprised of Tim Abbey and Rebeca Marcos-Rosa, London duo Park Hotel have make their entry with a magnificent debut track titled 'Gone As A Friend'. Capturing the sounds of funk, punk disco and new wave, this is the new theme song to all things downtown. With a nod to acts like Talking Heads, the ridding of a friend has never sounded so lovely. Musically one can't help but picture an environment of stylish, chic, gritty and hedonistic people all congregating in one place. 'Gone As A Friend' is produced by Elliot James. Have a listen.
It's amazing how a band like Blondie can release their first album in 1976 and in 2017 still sound better than most groups out currently. With their upcoming album 'Pollinator' scheduled to land in stores May 5th, the group have shared the video for their track 'Fun'. With Debbie Harry still looking incredible, black and white clips of the band performing the track coincide with a girl having an orgasmic experience whilst at a party. Check it out.
Australian band PVT have shared their new single 'New Spirit', the title track to their forthcoming new album, out Feb 17th on Felte. Tackling the the shaky state of politics that have been at the forefront for the past number of years, the dark, no-nonsense combo of electronica, eerie jazz and new wave, their messages in the music have been an echo of many around the globe for a while now, and it's only getting stronger.
