M.I.A. has shared a new mixtape that she dubs 'Bells Collection'. This is a mix of composed of sampled tracks as well as original material from the London artist. You can find the likes of Blaqstarr, Rex Kudo, Skrillex, and more on this project.
It's been four years since the last M.I.A. album 'Aim'. Now the artist and activist hits us with a new song entitled 'CTRL'. Returning to what may be considered as her core sound, the experimental electronica meets bounce cut tackles issues such as freedom of speech, racism and more.
Teaming up with Swedish brand H&M to help shine a spotlight on the recycling of clothing and sustainability, M.I.A. has shared the full length video to her song 'Rewear It'. Filmed in the style of H&M's short fashion films, the vid showcases people from around the globe dancing up a storm. The track coincides with H&M's World Recycle Week.
Taking the more unconventional route in tems of a press release, M.I.A has revealed via Instagram that she is currently working on a mixtape containing three songs that will be joined together, which will also parallel the pattern of a self-directed film that is also in the works. On the post, she also states that there will be a 12 minute long, three-song video that is a "journey around the planet". Whilst there is currently no release date for either, we'll keep you posted.
