London-based artist Anna B Savage has unveiled the video to her single 'A Common Tern'. Directed by herself along with Jem Talbot, the black and white visuals feature Anna blindfolded whilst being hit by black paint balls as she struggles to avoid the shots. The imagery is a representative of her escape from a toxic relationship as well as her own demons. The track is taken from Anna B Savage's forthcoming debut album landing January 29th via City Slang.
London singer Sola has released her EP 'Mami Wata' on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce imprint. A hybrid of styles, the 7-song record fuses smokey R&B, jazz and nocturnal electronica with Sola's deep, soulful vocals being a reeling line of hypnotica. Sola's latest work follows her 2018 EP 'Wealth Has Come'.
London-based artist Westerman has dropped his new EP 'Choupana'. The record features a number of song sketches taken from his album 'Your Hero Is Not Dead'. The EP also includes an unreleased cut entitled 'Above Average', which wasn't featured in the album.
Swiss-born, London-based singer RAÍZ (Portuguese for root) is ready to make his mark in music, delivering sounds blended with modern pop, 80s electro and splashes of R&B. The vocalist now makes his official debut with the single 'Nightmare', taken from his forthcoming EP 'Saudade'. The first inclination of a love story which is the theme of the EP, 'Nightmare' is driven by sparkling synth lines and an upbeat tempo carved with a 80s nostalgia, all laced with RAÍZ's melodic, falsetto-powered vocals.
London band ART BRUT have unveiled a new makeover of their 2005 single 'Modern Art'. Dubbed the Berlinische version, the time span of the track is a whopping 16 miniutes! The tune was released as a 7" vinyl for Record Store Day 2020 and is now available digitally. The current version is also named after the German museum the Berlinische Galerie. Australian-born, London-based singer Edens Back makes her debut with the song and video 'It Don't Mean Jack'. Directed by Richard Hutchison and shot at night in London's Chinatown, the singer delivers pure energy and attitude in her performance with the silky production layered with funk and soul trimmings.
Producer Raf Riley and singer Caitlyn Scarlet have joined forces to release the track 'No Gentleman'. With a cinematic intro allowing Scarlet to exercise vocal dynamism, bouncy trap drums soon follow for a head-nodding extravaganza. Priestess is the project of artist and yogi Kate Fleur Young. Created in London, she now works alongside with with James Mottershead and Jack Drewry to create an atmospheric listening experience. Priestess now makes her official debut with the single 'Distractions'. Whilst tender guitar play accompanying Young's emotive vocals set off the track, menacing electronic production shortly follows. Spacious at moments and quaking during other peak points, 'Distractions' is a dark handing that should attract fans of Anna Calvi and classic Portishead.
