The band's first single 'Fun' (co-written with Dave Sitek) was released last month with an accompanying video. Blondie will now unleash a remix package to the track. Stream Shy Luv’s New ‘Shock Horror’ EP

Whilst their provocative EP title 'Shock Horror' may instantly provoke thoughts of something evil and wicked, Shy Luv's latest record is anything but. In fact, the sunny funk/disco/pop release is more fitting for a Summer afternoon in July. Comprised of four upbeat and infectious tracks, the Manchester duo will have you instantly hooked on their saucy and slick production combined with smokey vocal deliveries that simply put you in the most cheery of moods.

Top Pick: Park Hotel ‘Gone As A Friend’

Comprised of Tim Abbey and Rebeca Marcos-Rosa, London duo Park Hotel have make their entry with a magnificent debut track titled 'Gone As A Friend'. Capturing the sounds of funk, punk disco and new wave, this is the new theme song to all things downtown. With a nod to acts like Talking Heads, the ridding of a friend has never sounded so lovely. Musically one can't help but picture an environment of stylish, chic, gritty and hedonistic people all congregating in one place. 'Gone As A Friend' is produced by Elliot James. Have a listen.

Entschuldigung Set to Release ‘Gina’ EP

When it comes to the sexy sounds of nu-disco and electro, let's call it what it is, the French are just good at it. So it should be no surprise that Guillaume Atlan and Stephane Bejean-Lebenson, the Parisian mainstays known as Entschuldigung, are ready to drop a monster of an EP titled 'Gina', a classy journey into atmospheric electronica, disco and electro rhythms.

Top Pick: Hector Plimmer ‘Eastern System’

Producer and DJ Hector Plimmer is good...real good. In fact, the South London native was aiming at pushing the boundaries of music with tracks like 'Circle Square Triangle', literally 3 years back. Having tapped into electronica/future jazz hybrids with 'Personal Paradise', and more notably blowing fans away with his cut 'Tomorrow', which was feature on Gilles Peterson's 'Brownswood Bubblers Vol. 11' back in 2014, Plimmer continues to produce forward-thinking music with his 'Eastern System' EP, out on one of our choice labels, Albert’s Favourites. Doing what he does best, which is to blend multiple styles and sounds, practically erasing the idea of genre, the record captures snapshots of tribal rhythms integrated with unorthodox electronica and up-rock breakbeats, totally spawning a fresh and innovative release that sounds nothing like anything out at the moment. Hector Plimmer has definitely scored a big win with this release. Have a listen.
