French brand Études and Mark Gonzales team up with director Peter Sutherland for a short fashion film spotlighting their new Capsule Collection collaboration. Shot in New York City, two males stroll the city streets whilst Gonzales recites poetry throughout the duration of the video. Think of the movie 'Downtown 81' starring Jean-Michel Basquiat and you'll get the feel of the aesthetic. The collection includes poplin shirts and bomber jackets featuring Mark Gonzales' illustrations and writings.
A month ago Italian brand Valentino enlisted Vanessa Beecroft to present their latest collection at the New York Academy of Art. With the models all similarly dressed in tan trench coats, they all stand or sit in similar formation like a group of soldiers. Similarities can be drawn between this showcase and Kanye West's 'Yeezy Season' show in terms of aesthetics. Magnificently shot, the video stars actor/musician Josh Whitehouse and actress/model Amber Anderson. Filmed in the heart of London, Whitehouse and Anderson get intimate over a number of days whilst dressed immaculately in Burberry evening attire. Teaming up with Swedish brand H&M to help shine a spotlight on the recycling of clothing and sustainability, M.I.A. has shared the full length video to her song 'Rewear It'. Filmed in the style of H&M's short fashion films, the vid showcases people from around the globe dancing up a storm. The track coincides with H&M's World Recycle Week.
