Listen to Aphir’s Experimental Track ‘No Muse’

Back in 2015 Melbourne Becki Whitton aka Aphir released her LP 'Holodreem', which was a bridging of two EPs titled 'Abandon' and 'Halved'. A gothic take of minimalism with each track driven purely by vocals, Aphir now returns with her latest single called 'No Muse'. Using her angelic voice as an instrument that coincides with the experimental dash of electronica, there is haunting feel to the song, but no less brilliant and imaginative. 'No Muse' is taken from Aphir's forthcoming LP Twin Earth, landing in 2017. Have a listen.

Having shared tracks such as 'Female Vampire,''Conceptual Romance' and 'Period Piece', the full album is available for streaming via NPR. Whilst never one to shy away from an unorthodox style of production and delivery, 'Blood Bitch' is a more subtle approach to her brand of experimentalism, lighter yet no less impacting as she blurs the line between the imaginable and the personal.

Jenny Hval ‘Conceptual Romance’ Video

A graveyard is the open space for a woman to run through, not to mention Norwegian singer and artist Jenny Hval bouncing on a stability ball whilst wearing a wig. If this sounds even remotely strange, that's because it is. This is what you get with Hval's latest video 'Conceptual Romance'. There is even a scene where three girls are going mental, to the point of fighting each other. However, all of the ladies seem to be in a happier state of mind once all huddled together in front of a mansion whilst wearing cat suits painted to look like naked bodies. According to director Zia Anger, the video is "a conceptual ménage a trois between Jenny, myself, and cheap tricks. It is a literal burial of the effigies we have created in our video and performance collaborations over the past three years."
