ColoRising Mixes 31: Rein

An intense energy is what Stockholm's Rein brings to the table. Using the sounds of electro, punk and digital hardcore to deliver messages containing political and social overtones, the fiery artist released her debut self-titled EP last year, shaking the music industry whilst gaining multiple praises internationally. Nominated for a 2017 P3 Guld Award, Rein's latest EP entitled 'FREEDOOM' is a harder hit to the matrix, tackling subjects such as sexism, racism, capitalism and more. One of the most potent recordings currently on the market, Rein is here to do more than just make you dance, but rather spark the fire for change.

Maud Geffray’s ‘Polaar’ is a Nocturnal Voyage

Maud Geffray may already be familiar to fans of the Parisian group Scratch Massive but as a solo artist she is proving that she is an entity on to herself. Geffray’s latest LP ‘Polaar’ is a deep, nocturnal journey through various styles of electronica ranging from house to electro pop and even new wave. Whilst haunting sound palettes are not foreign to the electronic world, Maud Geffray’s multifaceted selection of tempos and often times delivery of mood makes the LP highly pleasurable. Cinematic instrumental tracks such as ‘Voices from the Sky’ are balanced with steamy synth pop layered tunes like the catchy ‘In Your Eyes’ which features Flavien Berger.

Fun and vibrant, the synth-driven cut is the perfect introduction to the summer. Incorporating the flute to coincide with upbeat vocals, Shy Luv is spot on the mark with this utterly feel good recording. Have a listen.

Having released their debut album 'About Last Night', the pair have now shared the second single off the LP entitled 'Don't Wanna Dance'. The steamy and glitzy electro pop cut is definitely a sensual soundtrack to any hedonistic night which may or may not include dancing. 'Don't Wanna Dance' will get released on May 5 via L.O.V.E. Ltd. Listen to Giungla’s ‘Cold’

Last year we were raving about Italian artist Emanuela Drei aka Giungla, who released her killer EP 'Camo'. Back with a new track for 2017, the Bologna-based singer has dropped her latest tune 'Cold', an upbeat mesh of electro and alternative. We're hoping that this is the first indication of a new EP coming later in the year. For now, you can enjoy the tune down at the bottom. 'Cold' is out via Some Kinda Love.
