Last year Seattle band La Luz released their self-titled fourth LP, a brilliant kaleidoscope of rhythms which included surf rock, psychedelic, dream pop, doo wop, and more. The album even featured collaboration tracks with none other than Adrian Younge.
Northern California band Nobody's Baby may be new to our ears but their recent single 'Life of a Thousand Girls' is a lovely offering of doo-wop, garage rock and punk that is utterly addicting. While the first half of the song musically embodies 1950's classicism in terms of instrumentation, the band switches to a harder punk-driven sound with chunky guitar riffs accompanying tingling vocal melodies. We're looking forward to hearing loads more from the promising Bay Area band. Have a listen.
Trudy and the Romance will release their debut LP 'Sandman' on May 24th. Having dropped a number of exciting singles that straddle between classic 50s rock, doo-wop and modern pop, we're highly excited for the new album to land.
