Atlanta rockers The Coathangers will release their new 'Live' album on June 1st via the Suicide Squeeze label. The album features the trio playing live at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, California. 'Live' is the follow-up to The Coathangers' 2017 EP 'Parasite'.
Janelle Monáe has announced the release of her new album 'Dirty Computer', dropping April 27th. To warm everyone's taste buds, the superstar has not only released one video but rather two simultaneously.
The first, 'Make Me Feel', is directed by Alan Ferguson and features Monáe playing a number of character roles in a setting that references punk, new wave and more.
The second video, the Andrew Donoho and Chuck Lightning-directed 'Django Jane', finds Janelle Monáe rapping whilst stylishly dressed with a mini army of biker jacket clad dancers.
Whilst the city of Atlanta may have a stake on the sound of trap music, there is a bubbling punk scene that is happening beneath the surface. One of the groups that are at the forefront of the punk circuit in the ATL are the threesome known as The Coathangers. Forming in 2006, these rockers have released a number of 7" records as well as three LPs over their decade span. With their forthcoming 'Parasite' EP out June 30th via Suicide Squeeze, they have shared one of the songs taken from the release entitled 'Captain's Dead'. A spicy delivery in content, sing-a-long hooks and clever instrumentation makes this another winner for the trio.

Run The Jewels originally scheduled their album 'RTJ3' to land on the 13th of January, however, the duo gave fans a treat by releasing it shortly before Christmas. Ironically the impact of the sudden availability was so great that the Run The Jewels website literally crashed! The new album features appearances by Danny Brown, Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, Trina and more.
If anyone should get an award from consistency it's Run The Jewels. Practically the saving graces of Hip-Hop over the past few years, El-P and Killer Mike are set to release their forthcoming 'RTJ3' LP on the 13th of January, 2017.
The duo have shared their song 'Legend Has It' which is featured on the upcoming new album. In glorious RTJ fashion, Mike and El-P dish out lyrical beat downs over skippy drums, sporadic chopped guitar licks and husky synths. Raw and gritty, it looks like Run The Jewels may have yet again another classic on their hands.
Atlanta's Gringo Star share the official video to their single 'Rotten'. Directed by Malone Pictures, the band jams out in a studio setting whilst performing the track. The cinematography features low-lit shots as beams of light shines through a window giving almost like heavenly gates. The song is taken from Gringo Star's forthcoming album 'The Sides And In Between'. Check it out.
Apparently Run The Jewels are in the studio working on the new RTJ3 album. El-P posted a snippet of a track to his Instagram, giving fans a quick fifteen second teaser. Again, this is only a very small dose of what can be expected. Although we're certain that many people will complain about it being too short, all we can say is, it's better than nothing! It's probably safe to say that the new album is going to be another consecutive Hip-Hop beat down to the official "f--k boys". Check it out.

Although Run the Jewels have clearly released two classic Hip-Hop albums, what's also quite exciting is the fact that they have shared a track from their cat-constructed 'Meow the Jewels' remix LP. Reworking the song 'Oh My Darling' is none other than producer Just Blaze, who transforms the track into an apocalyptic piece fresh with the harmony of cats meowing in the background. You can download the song via Run the Jewels' website.
