London band FURS are truly a pleasant addiction. Since dropping their track 'Going Nowehere' a couple of years back, the group have remained consistent with a flow of cuts that have led up to their recently released debut LP 'Just Kids'. One of the tunes taken from the album is the hazy piece entitled 'Holy Reviewer'. Whilst previous songs have been a delicious execution of synth-pop, 'Holy Reviewer' is an alternative rock effort that adds another layer to their already lush soundscape.
NYC band Big Thief dropped their 'Masterpiece' EP via Saddle Creek Records a few months back. Packing in lush and moody sounds of Americana into four songs, the group have shared one of the highlight tracks taken from the record. 'Paul', a breezy slice of alt-rock, is that song that plays in a break-up scene where one of the members in the couple packs their bags, hops in the car and drives off into the sunset as the other party stands there with a pitiful stare. Whilst the song may feel quite melancholic to the one who has been left behind, it's a beautiful and liberating soundtrack for the other. Have a listen.
