North London band Desperate Journalist have been quite the talk since releasing their 'Christina' EP back in 2013. Dropping their self-titled debut LP two years later, the band perfectly found a sweet spot between post-punk rage, refined indie and striking melodies spruced with a goth-like tinge.
With their second album 'Grow Up' set to get released on the 24th of March via Fierce Panda, the group have shared their new single entitled 'Resolution'. Raising the levels even higher than before with pristine production of alt-rock that jumps out of the speaker, the balance of Jo Bevan's vocal work is a true audible delight.
Dublin band Raglans released their self-titled debut album back in 2014 which garnered support by BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and more. After performing loads of shows throughout that period, Raglans made their return with the release their latest EP 'Again & Again'. The record was also followed by a number of live dates with the group trekking across Ireland and parts of the Netherlands. Fostering a polished sound of alt-rock, the EP is tasty treat for fans who have craved for new material over the past couple years.
Los Angeles-based artist Lola Blanc has an interesting background. For one, she used to be a child ventriloquist with a roller coaster of a life. Two, she has written for the likes of Brittney Spears and acted on television shoes such as 'American Horror Story: Hotel'. Factor this into her music career and what you get are cinematic records that teeter between Broadway classic and modern, grandeur pop.

Aside from possessing one of the more interesting names in music, Leeds band Dead Naked …
Laura Peters' Psychic Love is one of the gems of bands bursting in the Los Angeles music scene. Having dropped songs over the past three years including the 'Mirrors/Medicine' release and 'The Weekend', the band have now unveiled their new album 'The Hive Mind'. Twelve songs in total, the LP is sweet taste of hazy alternative, surf rock, dream pop and more, stamped with sun-soaked melodies and premium production that is definitely an ear-delight. 'The Hive Mind' is one of those unexpected albums of 2016 that will more than likely make it on your list of faves for the year. There was no saturation of marketing or unnecessary hype, but rather a DIY style of heavenly, good music, simple and plain. Below is a preview of the record. Have a listen.
It would be highly unfair to simply label East London band Sonitus as one who creates one particular sound of rock. Whilst they indeed push the pedal to a full throttle of alternative, there flourishing melodies and switching instrumentation nods at everything from progressive metal to even hints of soul tones. However you choose to try to dissect it, it's simply good, quality rock and roll. This is evident with their debut EP 'Kleptocracy'. Consisting of 7 tracks in total, the release is a fiery whirlwind of racing guitars, hard-thumping drums and the reeling vocals of Russell Balogun, who delivers a graceful performance on top of the album's well-polished production. This is an impressive debut from a band who will be on everyone's brain extremely soon.
With his new album 'Hamburg Demonstrations' scheduled to land in December 2nd, musician and The Libertines' co-frontman Pete Doherty have shared a track taken from the LP entitled 'Kolly Kibber'. The song also coincides with the announcement of an intimate show that Doherty will be playing at London's Rough Trade East on December 5th. Staggering yet splashy in the classic Doherty fashion, you can listen to the song via YouTube down at the bottom. Have a listen.
Newcastle's Keiandra first emerged on the scene a year ago with her song 'Wanted'. Coming with something of an otherworldly sound, she followed-up with her dreamy and cosmic EP 'Empty Palaces' which was a combo of surreal alternative, dream pop and spacey electronica. She now makes her return with the song 'Milk Tooth'. Sitting somewhere between classic Massive Attack trip hop and cinematic indie pop, the single is the lead-up to a possible new EP forthcoming next year.
