Stream Sam Frankl’s ‘Gold Rush’

Poet and singer Sam Frankl draws inspiration from the housing crisis of London, specifically the Heygate Estate, for his latest song ‘Gold Rush’. Writing from the standpoint of a resident soon to lose his home, Frankl delivers a powerful and crafty piece of music, calling a sense of urgency to a matter that affects thousands in the city of London.

Touching on ‘Gold Rush’, Sam Frankl stated:

“The Heygate Estate was in the process of being demolished. It was once the largest housing estate in western Europe but had fallen into disrepair due to systematic defunding. Eventually only a handful of tenants remained where once 3000 family units had lived. Those tenants refused to leave.”
