Scottish singer NATI. has shared her new single ‘JOAN’. The song follows her previously released EP Golden, which landed back in March of this year.
Whilst previously known for her more folk-driven sonics, NATI. finds herself driving down a more pop-centric lane with ‘JOAN’. Produced with PALMR, the tune is bright, upbeat, and lively, with NATI.’s performance powered by sheer confidence that makes for a great single that has that mainstream chart potential.
Regarding the single, NATI. stated:
“Joan is magic. Joan is timeless. Joan is all of us. Joan is flawed, troubled, beautiful, light and dark. She is perfection. And she doesn’t exist.
I was sick of writing about myself. I wanted to do something I’d never done before: a name song. I’ve always been a very lyric orientated writer, and that’s a great thing, but it can also sometimes hinder my creative juices as I tend to overthink or overexplain everything I write about. That day, for whatever reason, I didn’t want to overthink. I saw Joan in my head, I let that take over and I wrote about her.”
