Back in 2016, NYC rockers High Waisted dropped their charismatic debut album ‘On Ludlow’. Bridging everything from 50s rock, surf, pop punk and more, the release was a wild and fun ride with the group’s live shows just as energetic.
Making their return in 2020 with the singles ‘Boys Can’t Dance’ and ‘Modern Love’, High Waisted have now unveiled their sophomore album Sick of Saying Sorry. Whilst there are musical traces of their stamp of rock classicism, the duo have incorporated more vivid pop and indie toppings, covering a wider spectrum of sound whilst simultaneously making it even more accessible. Highlighted is singer and guitarist Jessica Louise Dye’s ability to continue laying vocals that range from playful to sultry, with the songwriting displaying full-on character. Stacked with dynamic production, High Waisted have delivered a package nothing short of exciting.
Sick of Saying Sorry is out now on Learn-To Records. You can stream the album below.
