Releasing their highly experimental yet crushing 2023 album Data Doom, Frankie and the Witch Fingers have now returned with a new single titled ‘Bonehead’. The track is taken from an upcoming 7″ that will be available in November. The B-side has yet to be revealed. However, you will be able to buy the 7″ on limited edition neon green or white vinyl.
‘Bonehead’ is a ripping offering of psychdedlic rock mixed with in your face punk that launches with sinister guitar riffs and swaying drums, eventually morphing into almost metal territory. There is everything from distortion to borderline post punk vocals, all packed into one gut punching blast that absolutely rocks. Below is a stream of ‘Bonehead’.
Touching on the track, the band mentioned:
“’Bonehead’ is a primitive, buzzy thumper, raw and stripped down,” the band says. “In a world where it’s easy to add more, we had a blast cooking out the junk and keeping it potent and pure. We wanted to capture the chaotic energy of those unfiltered live moments. Recorded the basics in one take, warts and all.
Thrashing around with a crowd of free spirits reminds us we can push back against the parasitic noise trying to keep us controlled—this is a little slice of that in recorded form.”
