Scottish band Declan Welsh & The Decadent West have unveiled their latest single ‘Talking To Myself’. Continuing their impeccable run of high taste indie releases, the track is not only dynamic in instrumentation, vocal performance and overall production, but puts the stake in the ground of what a great song in general sounds like without any fluff or filler, just pure passion and dedication. Cutting straight to the point, ‘Talking To Myself’ is one killer piece of music delivered by a band who is helping to make indie rock simply feel good again.
Regarding the song, Declan Welsh stated:
“‘Talking to Myself’ is pretty deliberately vague. It’s generally about the idea of these internal conversations you have, different parts of you saying do this or that. It’s been a year or two spent in our own heads so this just sort of came out. It’s a song about that weirdly comforting truth that everyone is insecure, sad or anxious in some way. None of us are alone in that respect, but we’re all suffering together, apart.”
