Brighton-based trio CIEL have released their debut EP Movement, which comes at the heels of their recently dropped single ‘Same Old Times With U’. Consisting of three tracks, the record is a combination of breezy dream pop and lush indie with subtle hints of creeping post-punk. Produced by Jack Wolter, the songs are composed with gentle instrumentation topped with the breezy vocal work of singer Michelle Hindriks. Already garnishing airplay of BBC 6 Music, Movement is a delicious taster of what we’re hoping will manifest into an LP in the coming future.
Regarding the EP, Michelle Hindriks stated:
“The whole EP is about moving away from a more introspective period in which I felt quite distant from other people and moving into a new phase of my life in which I was able to open up. We’re now releasing this EP in a time in which we are forced to distance ourselves from one another; but I feel more connected to the people around me now that I did before.”
