Irish singer Carrie Baxter steps forth with her latest single entitled ‘Change’. The song is taken from her forthcoming LP Seven, out March 11th.
Delivering an infectious taste of neo-soul, head-nodding drums accompanied by warming guitar lines, as well as a funk bass line make up the blueprint of ‘Change’. Carrie Baxter plays with tones and flows throughout her performance, adding a level of dynamism to the song. A track that will surely remain on repeat, you can stream ‘Change’ below.
Touching on the track, Carrie Baxter said:
“This song didn’t come easily to me. It forced me to sit with the parts of myself I’d avoided for years, the patterns I carried from childhood that I knew I had to face. For a long time I treated healing like something that needed fixing. As I’ve grown, I’ve realised it’s not about fixing at all. It’s about walking alongside my younger self, letting myself feel everything, and choosing who I want to become. That’s what the chorus is. An honest conversation with myself.”
