Scrounge Unveil Their New Track ‘Corner Cutting Boredom’

Having been a fixture in the London DIY scene for a few years now, Scrounge make their return since the release of the 2022 mini album Sugar, Daddy, with a new single called ‘Corner Cutting Boredom’. Out now on state51, the tune is available via digital download as well as a limited edition zine and Flexi Disc.

Delving into their bag of art rock and punk, musically there is even more experimentation happening with drop-outs throughout the track, as well as alternative-driven guitar riffs incorporated in the song. Vocalist Lucy Alexander delivers a singing meets spoken word style with edge and grit. Definitely a punchy return for the band, we’re hoping this is the first sign of a new EP or even album coming down the line.

Touching on the track, Scrounge mentioned:

“‘Corner Cutting Boredom’ is the start of a new phase of the band – bringing in more texture, more of the industrial and electronic influences that we’ve always loved, than ever before, but hopefully retaining the intensity and emotion that makes this a cathartic project to be part of. We’re really excited about where we’re going next with this, and we hope you get something out of it too”
