Swedish pop artist Raindear aka Rebecca Bergcrantz makes her return after quite the break with a new single titled ‘Howl’. The track follows her 2019 album Skies to My Name.
‘Howl’ is a punchy Scandi-pop handing that is powered by pounding drums kicks, echoing snares and chilly synths. A triumphant song in a way, the content revolves around one breaking loose of constraints whether self or other factors. Raindear’s performance stands strong like the confidence of a heroine, a little reminder of what she has built her career on. ‘Howl’ is out via Aloaded.
Regarding the song, Raindear mentioned:
“I have long felt like a lion in a cage and with this song I finally break free. I wrote ‘Howl’ back in 2020 and since then it has been marinated for what feels like an eternity. I often write songs from my subconscious side, only to know for sure what the songs are about in retrospect – when the future is already here. I think ‘Howl’ in some weird way is about releasing ‘Howl’. After a long and painful wait filled with crashes and a massive identity crisis, I finally release music again and it feels powerful. Strangely I feel both stoic and fragile right now.”
