After bringing forth her moving single ‘The Gift’ last month, Birmingham artist Monique now shares the full EP boasting the same title. Consisting of five tracks, The Gift draws inspiration from her transition into motherhood with core soul, folk and jazz production acting as the musical backbone. Using gorgeous vocal work to channel emotional and touching lyrical content, Monique’s imprint is something that will remain permanent.

In a press statement, Monique wrote:

“(The Gift) explores the theme of time and moments in a world that moves so fast that we rarely stand in the present. There are moments that bring us face to face with ourselves and others that are willing us to take a look in the mirror. To stop and consider our course or just to simply enjoy, be thankful and content.”
