Oregon-raised now Manchester-based singer Nyah Grace has unveiled her latest track entitled ‘Down’. The song is taken from her forthcoming album Divinely Devoted, landing June 20th on Palawan Productions.
‘Down’ is a quiet storm of a track with Nyah Grace delving into her R&B meets jazz bag, bringing a classic energy of 90s felt vibes that is truly something special. With a mature vocal delivery including an absolutely grand chorus window, the song upholds the tradition of a great soul cut, placing Nyah Grace as a force to reckon with.
Touching on the single, Nyah Grace stated:
“When I first heard the demo, it was just like ‘Whoa! This could be something really, really cool’. What’s funny is some of those lines were just one-takes I’d written a minute before, thinking it was just going to be a demo. Afterwards he was like, ‘Okay, it’s done’. That song really captures the moment.
Writing ‘Down’ was a cathartic experience for me. It allowed me to channel the frustration, angst, and eventual acceptance that came from a past relationships and the way I was treated. I loved experimenting with the space and dynamics in this song and giving my raw emotions room to breathe.”
