Paris-based trio NIKI NIKI may identify themselves as a pop group, but they are definitely unlike your typical crop of acts that are in the scene at the moment. Walking down the lane of more groundbreaking artists such as David Bowie, there latest single ‘Pretty Sunny Funny Walk’ meshes art pop with bass-rolling, almost experimental trap, topped with operatic vocal stylings. Absolutely invigorating, this is the first offering leading up to their debut LP Absence, out later in the year.
Regarding the song, NIKI NIKI said:
“Our music is the fruit of a transformation from tears to inner diamonds, an emotional pop which interrogates the actual world with all its violence and beauty. Our lyrics deal with reality through metaphoric waves.”
