Back in May of this year poet, activist, and musician Moor Mother released a deluxe edition of her Jazz Codes album. Whilst the original version dropped back in 2022, the latest edition contained six additional tracks. Moor Mother has now returned with a new single titled ‘One for Archie’, which is an ode to the iconic jazz saxophonist Archie Shepp. A spoken word piece, the song features Nicole Mitchell and Nduduzo Makhathini, who produced the gorgeous cut.
Moor Mother has also crafted a lush collage of the Animal Collective album Isn’t It Now?. Condensing the LP into a 3 minute and 52 seconds track, marvellously beautiful is the description that immediately comes to mind.
Listen to both songs down below.
