NYC songstress Mïrändä returns with a new single and video dubbed ‘I Am Art’. Musically the track is a grand mixture of pop and electro, with the content being a hopeful anthem of overcoming pain during those moments of loneliness. The single follows her previous cuts ‘Stay’ and ‘Formula’. The video was shot by Mïrändä herself during the beginning of the coronavirus lockdown. You can watch the vid down at the bottom.
In a press statement regarding the song and video, Mïrändä wrote:
“This song marks a turning point for me, and the beginning of a journey of personal and spiritual growth. I wrote it over a year ago and it’s incredible how it’s meaning continues to evolve for me. Its message feels so relevant to the time we are currently in.
I shot and edited the music video for “I Am Art” on my phone the first week of quarantine. It was a satisfying distraction for me and gave me an opportunity to channel my creative energy.
In this video I wanted to play with creating space within confinement and explore how we can reconnect with nature while in isolation.
I filmed in my narrow hallway and worked within the limited frame of my cell phone. Through color, costume and makeup I discovered various incarnations of myself vying for expression. Limitations can sometimes set you free.”
