Manchester outfit Loose Articles have shared their latest single and video ‘Sinead Loves Bitcoin’. The song follows their 2022 EP Chaos, which is out via Alcopop! Records.
For starters, we can tell you that ‘Sinead Loves Bitcoin’ will be one of our fave tracks of this year. Quirky with slinky post-punk / punk funk instrumentation, the cheeky lyrics deals with an internet scammer who tries to sell people bitcoins, with an added intention of trying to take wifi boxes.
The accompanying video filmed by Natalie Wardle and Erin Caine helps to bring the track even more to life. Can we have more Loose Articles this year please?
Touching on the track Loose Articles said:
“The song is about our pal and local legend Sinead Ferguson, who’s a band photographer. She had her instagram account hijacked by Bitcoin hackers who were posing as her and trying to sell everyone Bitcoin for £10,000. For a split second everyone thought Sinead was a Bitcoin dealer, so we turned it into a song where she was stealing your wifi and hacking your social media accounts to sell Bitcoin.”
