London outfit deep tan have made their return with a new record. Now if you know anything about the trio, you know you’re more than likely going to get potent post-punk bliss with a dash of cheek. That’s exactly what you get with their latest track ‘xenomorph queen’. The song is the follow-up to their 2022 EP diamond horsetail.

‘xenomorph queen’ is built on wild, off-kilter guitar lines, bouncy drumming, and of course the entrancing, spoken word meets sing-along vocal style of Wafah who chants “xenomorph queen/queen of my dreams”. The song is under two minutes in length, which we do with was a bit longer as the catchy tune leaves you craving more. ‘xenomorph queen’ comes ahead of deep tan’s UK tour support of Queens of the Stone Age next month.
