Jumping in the public eye with his debut EP The Idea of Tomorrow back in 2016, London’s Pauli The PSM steps up with his latest single ‘Lifeline (Lorn Mayers Anthem)’, taken from his upcoming second EP Secret life Of A Badman. Reeling together a serving of future soul and Hip-Hop, Pauli touches on issues such as insecurity, racial dynamics and more. Above everything there is an overlying theme for optimism and perseverance.
In regards to ‘Lifeline (Lorn Mayers Anthem)’, Pauli mentioned:
“A quest for recognition in a land riddled with pot holes. I often find that life feels like a game of snakes and ladders. In this song I’m asking for a fair shot. Another chance. A lifeline. So that one day, I may experience the entitlement of the privileged.
This song pays homage to my friend, North London hero, Lorn Mayers who was the youngest player to ever play for an NFL team; soon after he was the victim of a shooting at a nightclub that would leave him injured, never to play American football again.
Despite the odds being against him, Lorn has rebuilt his life and takes an even more positive outlook on life, continuing to build for himself, family and community. Lorn is an example of how you can rise from adversity.”
