Parisian vocalist Mélanie Pain of Nouvelle Vague fame has released her new solo album Here and Why. This fourth LP follows her previous record My Name, which landed back in 2009.
What initially started as a number of songs written during a creative retreat stay in Bordeaux a year ago, Here and Why is a culmination of folk, jazz, and art pop, sounds that the French artist has long been steeped in. Delicate arrangements bordering the edges of minimalism act as the foundation for Pain’s artistic freedom to soar. Varied in moods, Here and Why is for the true lover of music who appreciates it in its most organic state.
