Whilst there is a youthful spirit bubbling within Lauran Hibberd’s music, there is something also extremely mature, approaching her art with a skilled craftsman who has been recording for ages. Her latest single ‘Old Head Young Shoulders’ is a brilliant and shining example of Hibberd’s playful vocal delivery placed on top of upbeat indie folk production that simply makes you feel the utmost of warmth inside. The tune follows her Favourite Shade of Blue EP which was released back in May of this year.

Touching on the track, Lauran Hibberd mentioned:

“To me ‘Old Head Young Shoulders’ is all about losing touch with my youth and the shelter that comes with it. It was one of the first songs I ever wrote, and definitely one of the most honest. I wrote it at a time, where I had no idea what I was feeling, no idea where I was heading and certainly no idea what life was actually all about.”
