Katie Schecter has stepped up with the release of her new single ‘Hide My Weapons’. The song is co-written with her husband Nick Bockrath of Cage the Elephant fame, and is taken from her upcoming album Empress, out October 17th.

The production on ‘Hide My Weapons’ is pristine, which is also handled by Nick Bockrath. Content wise, Katie Schecter touches on those moments in which two lovers are at odds resulting in a heated back and forth. Inspired by an actual period in which Schecter and her husband were in the midst of an argument, the song is a lush pop, rock, and soul hybrid that is truly effective.

Touching on the track, Katie Schecter said:
