Berlin duo Lea Porcelain cannot do any wrong in our eyes at the moment. Releasing some of the post potent post-punk tracks over the past year, the pair will finally drop their debut album HYMNS TO THE NIGHT on June 16th. The announcement follows Lea Porcelain’s Bruce Springsteen cover ‘Streets of Philadelphia’, in which a video was recently posted. Recorded in Berlin’s FUNKHAUS, the process was spread throughout a two year period.
Lea Porcelain have also unveiled a new short film THIS IS LEA PORCELAIN. A PORTRAIT BY RAMON HAINDL. They discuss the new album and spending much of their time in FUNKHAUS.
Touching on HYMNS TO THE NIGHT, Lea Porcelain wrote:
“Every song has its own unique characteristic, from the dystopian feel of ‘Similar Familiar’ to the ethereal, otherworldliness of ‘Loose Life’, we begin to tell a story. There’s the beauty and strength of ‘Warsaw Street’ and ‘Bones’, reflecting the tenderness of ‘Remember’. Each track compliments the other one and represents the emotions we’ve been feeling throughout our time together as a band. We believe in every inch of this record and hope you love it just as much as we do.”
