Director Kahlil Joseph has teamed up with fashion brand KENZO for the short film ‘Music Is My Mistress’. Like Joseph’s past work, varied clips weave around one another ultimately forming a bigger story than what is initially perceived. The film features a star-studded cast including Tracee Ellis Ross, Jesse Williams, Ishmael Butler of Shabazz Palaces and Kelsey Lu. There are also guest appearances by producer and musican Shafiq Husayn, Justen Le Roy and Julie Mills. The mood-driven short is visually stunning with the Shabazz Palaces song ‘down 155th in the MCM Snorkel’ featured throughout the film.
