New York’s Katy Gunn is a singer, songwriter, musician and performance artist whose music is a collage of styles morphed into something highly incredible. Her debut solo LP Beautiful Things incorporated post classical, indie, electronica, pop and soul. Whilst at times these multiple genre-clashing can be all out suicide for many acts, Gunn effortless creates an engaging bridge between the sonics and listeners.
Her latest piece ‘Hate (It’s a Bad Education)’ coincides with her Whispering Voices exhibition, a colloborative effort with other NYC-based artists. The song was created with nothing more than her voice and hands. This proves that you can make something great with the bare minimal. Have a listen.
