It’s time we put our cards on the table and talk straight: yes, we can’t get enough. After his killer set on our Boiler floor, Juan “The Godfather of Techno” Atkins will also get to know our Pool tonight. We don’t have to say much about his merits, but you should definitely check out his Facebook page – seems like the man from Detroit enjoys modern media pretty much lately. Atkins is not only posting classics from music history, but slanders about the meaning of DJ polls. This is how it’s done – good to have you back, Juan! While our art specialist Deviant Groove will open the night with his cheerful tunes, the pleasant Kate Miller is going to close the night. During her Boiler Room set the Australian woman played tracks by Roman Flügel, Ed Davenport and Mr. G – damn right, this lady is much more than just an insiders’ tip. And right in the middle we also have Zurich-based Eli Verveine. Why the Groove Magazine just recently called an old set as one of those „sets that meant to last forever“, you can find out at first-hand tonight. Back to Basics: Futurepast!
The slightly harder program is waiting on our Boiler floor again: The first three hours belong to the Berlin-based long runner Mike Dehnert. Since 2008 he run his own label Fachwerk that slowly targets its 50th release. It’s pretty obvious where they should celebrate this special anniversary, right? With this year’s album „Lichtbedingt“, Dehnert not only soften the border between house and techno, the LP underpins his reputation as one of Berlin’s most prolific producer. In May the Belgian Peter Van Hoesen played the last time in STATTBAD. But even with this short abstinence we don’t forget how scrupulous, slamming and often reduced his techno can be. As if this weren’t enough reason to freak out tonight, at the end there’s our closing expert Andrejko waiting for you with his 4/4 munitions. We love you but we’ve chosen techno!
