Having previously announced the release of her forthcoming new album Summer of Love, which is out April 12th onn Labelman, Jess Ribeiro steps forth with her new single ‘Jump The Gun’. The song follows her track ‘Everything Is Now’ which dropped last month.
‘Jump The Gun’ finds Ribeiro teetering on darker, almost post-punk-esque sounds. The tune is driven by a menacing bass line, locomotive drum thumps, and even a sax solo towards the end. The vocal performance is sultry and cinematic, fostering a brilliant combination.
Jess Ribeiro has also shared a video to accompany the tune which you can peep below.
Touching on the track, Jess Ribeiro mentioned:
“I love the saxophone played by Darcy on this song alongside the screeching guitar towards the end. It was a pleasure working with Darcy. Jim was fun to work with in the studio too, open to trying anything, and going with whatever we presented him with. Dave recorded the original drums at his house and sent them over. He didn’t get to come in due to the nature of the time. Despite the fact we didn’t get to be together in the same studio, I love how it all came together.”
