Back in 2018 Bristol band IDLES released one of the best albums of that year with their critically-acclaimed LP Joy as an Act of Resistance. Combining the sounds of punk, post-punk, noise and more, the group challenged the standard ideas of masculinity, promoted self-love and dealt with issues revolving around immigration.
Now with their third album ULTRA MONO scheduled to land September 25th via Partisan Records, IDLES have released their new single and video ‘Grounds’. Directed by Rob French, front man Joe Talbot drives around the area in his car during the early morning hours before spotting someone wearing a balaclava whilst running down the road. When the man seemingly collapses, Talbot pulls over to assist him, only to be assaulted and carjacked by the guy, which turns out to be himself. Have a look.
