Texas outfit Holy Wave will drop their new album Five of Cups on August 4th via Suicide Squeeze. Already giving a taste of what’s to come with their singles ‘Happier’, ‘Bog Song’, and the recent ‘Nothing in the Dark’, the members now unveil another cut titled ‘The Darkest Timeline’ featuring Lorelle Meets The Obsolete.

‘The Darkest Timeline’ is a dreamy and otherworldly psychedelic offering that is truly blissful. Lorelle Meets The Obsolete adds a seduction to that track with the more obscure bit coming in the form of the synth lines played underneath her vocals. There is surely something hypnotic about the song which you will find yourself listening to on repeat.

Touching on ‘The Darkest Timeline’, Holy Wave’s Ryan Fuson mentioned:

“We had been working on this song since the pandemic and had recorded an original version with Kyle singing. Sometime during the pandemic, we asked Lorelle Meets the Obsolete to add some stuff, and you hear the version with all of us in it. It was our first time writing a song with someone outside the band singing, and it felt so fresh and exciting. It is not the last time you will hear of a collaboration between us.”
