Brighton band HANYA have unveiled their new single ‘Texas’. An airy and utterly luscious slice of indie layered with a glaze of dream pop, the song is launched with tender guitar strums followed by subtle drums and the airy vocals of front woman Heather Sheret. The content touches on the mental wandering of possibilities after the initial meeting of someone of interest. ‘Texas’ follows HANYA’s previous EP Sea Shoes, released earlier this year.
Regarding the single, HANYA mentioned:
“‘Texas’ was entirely written and recorded during lockdown, testing ourselves to work remotely as a group. The track explores the feeling of wanting to run away with someone when you first meet them – the head-over-heels uncertainty, the self-doubt and the desire to know each other entirely.”
