Sad news have rained upon the music world today. Gerard Smith, bassist for the Brooklyn based rock group TV On The Radio has passed away after a battle with lung cancer. The band posted the news on their website http://www.tvontheradio.com.

It was only a month ago that the news of Smith’s fight with lung cancer was announced.

TV On The Radio’s album “Nine Types of Light” was released on April 12, 2011.

Gerard Smith will surely be missed.
