While many people know Flea as the wild bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he is the musician’s musician, having not only mastered everything from rock to funk, but later on in his career he found himself operating in the jazz space, playing with icons of the genre. Well Flea finds himself proving yet again that he can pretty much play anything with this new cover version of Frank Ocean’s song ‘Thinkin Bout You’.

All instrumental, Flea’s rendition is a jazz soaked handing, in which he not only plays bass but also the trumpet. There are classical elements in the track that are blissful. Moody yet wonderfully easing, Flea is truly keeping the art of finely crafted musicianship alive. Have a listen.
