London’s Everything by Electricity surely know how to pump out an excellent pop tune that bridges everything from indie, synthwave and more. Having released their single ‘Last Day Of The Sun’ at the end of 2017, with their latest track ‘Place To Call My Own’, the trio jump right back in step with a blissful and lush soundscape. Produced, written and recorded by frontwoman Yulia Bizyukova, the single is layered with ethereal synths and heart-beating drums. A little under 8 minutes in length, there is also a deep focus on the depth of the instrumentation. Bizyukova’s reverb-dipped vocals add a beautiful texture making this another stellar offering of dreamy pop.
Touching on the song,
“I wrote this song a long time ago in Siberia, before I moved to London. Initially, I didn’t intend for it to be a track I’d record and ultimately finish – it had just been sitting incomplete in an old lyric book for years. I recently came across the same book and found this unfinished song; it haunted me for days, I couldn’t take my mind off it, so dropped what I was currently working on and brought ‘Place To Call My Own’ to life.”
